TOMMY LEE

FROM ROCKING THE DRUMZ TO ROCKING PAMELA ANDERSON SEEMS VERY COMMON NOW DAYS... BUT FROM A METAL BAND TO AN ELECTRO HOUSE DJ DUO???

"Proving that he can bang beats as well as he bang drums, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee has teamed up with DJ Aero to form a DJ duo like no other. Aero spins the tunes and Tommy applies the effects while doing the visuals. Currently on the Electro Mayhem world tour, the rocking duo is bringing their filthy electro sounds to a debaucherous party at a club near you.

DJ Ron Slomowicz: How did the two of you meet up?
DJ Aero: We met at the beginning of the Methods of Mayhem tour.
RS: Tommy, how do you go from heavy metal to heavy dance?
Tommy Lee: I've always loved electronic music, whether it's incorporating that within a song or a drum solo or whatever. I haven't really gone from anything to anything - it's always been in my blood.

RS: So when you two perform, do you tag team on two sets of CD decks?
DJ Aero: Basically what happens is I handle the audio portion of the mix and Tommy affects that audio with his computer, and then he also spins on DV-Js with DVDs for the visuals.

RS: Where do you find your visuals?
Tommy Lee: You know what, it just depends. I try to find whatever fits the audio we're playing. We've got everything from disgusting filthiness to the most beautiful images you've ever seen in your life to underwater stuff to whatever goes with the music. I'm there to compliment and accentuate what's going on audio-wise.
RS: How would you describe the sound of the music, Aero?
DJ Aero: The sound of the music that we play is disgusting - filthy, filthy, filthy analogue baselines with heavy beats and to be honest, it's the sound of 2008 and beyond.

RS: Who are some of your favorite DJs?
Tommy Lee: I love Justice and Soulwax. Adam Freeland is a friend of mine who I just played drums for. I also love deadmau5 aka Joel Zimmerman.
DJ Aero: a/k/a Filthy White Boy.
Tommy Lee: By the way, deadmau5, Aero and I are going into the studio for about five days to finish the stuff that we've been working on, so in the New Year you're going to hear some new, badass, sexy, dirty music coming up.

RS: What do you call your sound? Is it like vocal-based music, is it track-based?
DJ Aero: It's electronic-based, that's the way I would describe it.

Intervjun är saxad från: http://dancemusic.about.com/od/djs/a/TommyLeeAeroInt.htm

"I must say, I'm over rock music," Lee told the Los Angeles CityBeat last month. "I just like everything. I love beats I live for them."

2ND INTERVIEW FORM AN OTHER SOURCE

Tommy Lee is a veteran in the business of making music; he's made it to the top of rock, collaborated with the best in rap, and done everything else in between. DJ Aero has been on the scene playing giggs all over the world, and joined forces with Tommy for the Electro Mayhem Tour, currently tearing up spots across North America with dirty house beats They took a break from the mayhem for a little Q&A:

So take us back to the very first time you guys Dj’s together, where and when was it?

Aero: We first played our solo stuff in 2004 at the annual Ultra Music Fest at WMC in Miami. It was in front of a crowd of 20,000-plus.

What have you guys learned from each other given your different backgrounds in music?

Tommy Lee: It’s all beats!! There really is no difference between a DJ and a drummer; if you take away the guitars, you still have bass and drums.

Aero, thinking back to 99 and the mayhem tour, has your music changed, has your style changed or evolved?

Aero: I have always been into house music since the days of the raves in Los Angeles. I would say that since I have been touring with Tommy, I am more focused on the electro house and break genre.

Tommy, you’ve been in music for a long time, you have a lot of experience to bring on the tour, how do you think your unique perspective has influenced the tour?

Lee: I think just knowing about good sound, lights and video have made me focus on getting our DJ set to look, sound and feel good!

Aero, what’s it like djing and partying with Tommy, how has it added to the experience of djing at different venues around the world?

Aero: It’s been surreal! Getting to rock in different cities and countries is awesome.

How did the idea of the tour get off the ground, who got the ball rolling?

Lee: I think, after doing random DJ-gigs around the world, we decided to put a tour together and focus on it and take what we do to every city with a dance club! By the way, did I mention that we’re having a fucking blast!

Aero, you’ve been just about everywhere, what have you learned about this amazing music from the tour, from the fans who dance their asses off with you guys?

Aero: I can tell you that when people let the music touch them, it is an amazing experience for the crowd and the DJs. The hardest part is getting those new fans to open-up to a new sound.

Tommy, you’ve been into electronic music for a long time, longer than people realize. What brought about the tour at this point in your career?

Lee: Like I said earlier, it was really time for me to focus on this passion of mine! I’m so glad I did. Also, I really needed to not play a Crue song for the millionth-time. When I get bored, it’s dangerous for me!

Aero, did you think you’d ever be touring with the drummer from Motley Crue?

Aero: I never planned it, that’s for sure. But I always knew that I would do something in the world of music and computers.

There’s something about electronic music that is different from any other, something that connects everyone in the crowd to each other and to you. Do you see that in your shows, and how do you compose your beats to make the experience better for everyone?

Lee: Yes, we do see that! Once the cellphone cameras stop, people start dancing! By the way, I hate cellphone cameras. They’re a satanic invasion-of-privacy. On the beats, Aero and I, on a daily basis, play each other music that, if we’re feelin’ it…chances are, are so with the crowd, as well. We have excellent taste in beat-treats! [laughs]

In recent interviews, you guys have both given shouts to Erick Morillo, Wu-Tang Clan, different kinds of blending of sounds, what do you think about the news of Ultra Records remixing Public Enemy tracks?

Lee: Sounds like a bangin’ idea! Let Aero and me at a track; we’ll kill it!

What are some future projects you guys are working on? What can fans expect to hear soon?

Aero: We should have some original tracks out by September for you to bump!

BT'S DAUGHTER MISSING

I GOT THIS FROM A BLOG ONLINE

"If you don't mind spread the word.
Electronic musician/producer Brian Transeau, better known to fans as BT, is conducting a desperate search for his 3-and-a-half year old daughter, Kaia.
The child was reportedly abducted more than three weeks ago by her mother, who has not been in contact with Transeau since the first few days.
The girl has been placed on the national missing persons NCIC (National Crime Information Center) list. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts should call 1-304-625-2000.

BT said his main concern is getting Kaia safely home. "I am diligently and delicately working to do everything possible to amend this tragic family situation. As a father my only goal is to get my daughter back home. I appreciate your continued support in this desperate hour."

hopefully he will find her as most of us know its been a hard time for bt, after almost a year ago his studio equipment was stolen...

Bio:
Still relatively new to DJing, just over 12 months since I bought my decks. Tried a few different styles trying to find my sound - electro, minimal, tribal, progressive & tech...and while I still quite like playing prog & tech, once I stumbled across that Deep/Funky Deep/Deep Jackin sound I knew I was in love! I think most of my work will hang around this genre for quite a while

side to side music

http://www.myspace.com/sidetosidemusic

Side to Side is collaboration between two upcoming music producers/ DJ’s Syed Mishaal Raza (Syed) and Fahad Ahmed (Ferdy). With history deep rooted in music, the duo formed their collaboration in 2006 and there has been no turning back since then. Aspiring to create music with a legacy that lives on, the young producers are on the road to creating influential music that directs and enhances the flow and culture of electronic music. Their style is often experimental and unconventional. With influences such as Steve Lawler, Sasha, Saeed and Palesh, John Digweed, and Richie Hawtin to name a few, Side to Side has produced some sick electronic tunes in the past year and have the ability to lock into their audiences on a personal level by creating stories through their music within a wide variety of genres including minimal, progressive, tribal, tech and electro house. Their beats are deep, and often dark. Starting off individually as producers, the two met when they moved to Toronto and were united by their love for electronic music. With their groovy bass lines, melodic leads and pumping drums Side To Side doesn't disappoint. These Producers/DJ's have come a long way to share with you the music they love. So sit back and turn it up as Side to Side takes you on a journey through the world of electronic music.

About DJ LYNNWOOD
“The first West Coast house DJ to win the affection of Chicago's finest” MixMag

So how does this West Coast player continue to pack floors, turn heads and set trends in a time when electronic dance music has been virtually wiped of the mainstream radar? “I'm a junkie” says DJ Lynnwood, a Southern California native and the face of INTERFERENCE, the Sound of the International Underground (one million listeners on fm radio each week). “The truth is, you can't stop it - the world loves to dance”. Lynnwood speaks of house music like a true believer and his following concurs, as they gather to experience the sound of this world class mixmaster.

Mixing at major venues since age 10, DJ Lynnwood has felt this vibe before. It's the addictive nature of house music that keeps him, and his fans coming back for more. DJ Lynnwood has cultivated a massive following in the United States with his 10-year strong radio mix show, his live gigs and his top- selling compilation CD's.

“Wherever Lynnwood plays, he's going to bang it” Bad Boy Bill
(America's Favorite DJ, BPM Magazine; Menage Music)

In the 90's DJ Lynnwood played for the largest nightclub crowds in the country. On top of that, his residency at Club Metro in east Los Angeles exposed him to 5,000 heads every Saturday night. His 8 hour DJ sets were renowned and revered by every industry and lifestyle publication of the day. When he released his debut CD “Earth Shakin' Deep House” in 1996, the world got a taste, and Lynnwood's career as a touring DJ exploded. In 1997, DJ Lynnwood signed with Chicago's hometown megalabel UC Music (Underground Construction) and subsequently released six best selling compilations alongside labelmates Alex Peace (Danceworks), DJ Bam Bam, Rick Garcia, Kevin Halstead, DJ Irene, Mazi, Ron Carroll, Ralphi Rosario, DJ Tragic and more. This success secured his fate as a staple in clubs and at raves all over the country.

“Lynnwood is one of the most technically proficient, creative DJ's of our time” Swedish Egil
(Sirius/PowerTools/Groove Radio)

DJ Lynnwood released two house anthems in ‘06 making the playlists of major dj's around the globe, and is now kicking things up a notch to incorporate more agressive, electrosoul elements - pinpointing the future of house music, and bringing him full circle to the uptempo, funky-dirty soulful sound that made him a living legend.

Today, Lynnwood continues to pull down over 150 gigs a year, both domestically and internationally at night clubs and major events, from Seattle to Sevilla.

“I want you to feel this music; bob your head, dance to it. If it turns you on, pumps you up, makes you happy, I did my job. If you talk about it tomorrow, then I rocked the house” DJ Lynnwood
